P-Agro Minerals is proud to contribute its innovative Letonite mineral material to the newly launched NutriloopWorks project under the Interreg Baltic Sea Region programme, coordinated by the Latvian University of Life Sciences and Technologies (Latvijas Biozinātņu un tehnoloģiju universitāte).
Letonite will be tested as a filter material for phosphorus removal in lake ecosystems as part of the project’s pilot activities. The solution aims to improve water quality while enabling circular reuse—the phosphorus-enriched material will later be repurposed in municipal greenery and landscaping.
As part of the project, three nutrient recovery systems will be piloted in municipalities across Latvia and Estonia—specifically in Cēsis, Limbaži, and Kastre. In parallel, a digital tool for water pollution monitoring will also be developed to support data-driven environmental management.
Pilot installations of the Letonite-based solution are planned for summer 2026, marking a step toward more sustainable, nature-based approaches to nutrient recovery and urban greening.
